A Day in the Life: Yoga Instructor Michael Wagner
What type of yoga do you teach? What has yoga done for you as a person?
I teach Dharma Yoga, which is a traditional form of Hatha Raja Yoga, challenging for body, breath and mind. The practice has proven to be supporting my health, fitness and a balanced mind.
How would you advise someone who wants to learn Yoga but struggles to tune out and meditate?
I would advise to start by looking for the right teacher, try out different yoga styles before judging anything without even trying it out. Even fitness oriented styles of Yoga can be suitable to get anyone started into that direction.
What is your favourite pose and why?
Headstand, Sirsasana. Because it's the most beneficial Asana, that I can do almost everywhere.
How did you get into modelling?
I started modelling 21 years ago, scouted by a fashion show agency in Germany.
What inspired you to get into acting?
I was inspired to start acting after a workshop for Eric Morris method acting.
What is your dream role/character you’d like to play?
I'd love to be part of a top motion picture, if the script and direction is right. So many dream roles, Ben-Hur would be one of my favourites.
What does your typical day look like?
I am constantly on the go, teaching yoga almost every day, and exercising daily. Between yoga, castings and shoots I do love to cook and bake. I read a lot and spend my free time with my friends.
How do you find balancing all three passions: modelling, acting & yoga?
You have to find your own balance I suppose. As a vegetarian for 10 years, my first daily focus is health. A healthy body and mind helps me on my auditions or castings and during filming or photoshoots.
